Shift Ready is the mobile trainer from the team behind Momster Mixologist. We started it because the training apps hospitality workers actually use are mostly $50-a-month flashcard decks — and every working bartender we know would rather learn the job than memorise one.
Origin
A bar program that became a job trainer.
Momster Mixologist spent a decade writing bar programs and training programmes for neighbourhood cocktail bars, busy hotel bars, and multi-station event venues. The same playbook kept showing up: get trainees competent in the basics before they ever stand behind the rail — glassware, jigger work, pour count, recipe spec — then put them on the floor and coach them through the first hundred hours.
Shift Ready is that playbook, lifted off the binder. The first hire at a new venue does the same drills the Momster team has been running in person for years — except it runs on their phone, on the bus to the trial shift, and on a ten-minute break in the back of house.
What it covers
Drills, simulator, coach — same engine, three surfaces.
Level 1 through Level 6 ladder the fundamentals up to a Friday-night pace; the Virtual Shift simulator puts timed orders on the bar; the AI bartender coach rehearses recipes, mock customers, and the trial-shift Q&A out loud. The same spec the head bartender expects, the same pace the floor sets.
Glassware, jigger work, sanitation, the 12 classic builds, service sequencing, roleplay, and a Friday-night simulator. Free at Level 1; the rest is Pro.
Dive bar, bistro, high-volume event. Timed order queues, live scoring, replay until the service window closes clean.
Recipe walkthroughs out loud, a mock regular, an interview rehearsal the night before a trial shift, and live in-ear coaching while a shift runs.
